Mandala Art

Mandala is a sanskrit word for ‘circle’ which represents the universe. In general use, it is a complex abstract pattern. It contains geometric as well as abstract symbols and elements. Mandala can be an excellent art therapy. It increases focus and concentration .It is a wonderful way of self expression.

Creating Mandala art is simple. Anyone can do it you need not to be an artist to draw it. To draw, you can simply start with a circle and then fill it with varying patterns(given below ), colours and symbols.

Materials required :

Black marker, any coloured pens, ruler,protractor, pencil, eraser and any coloured paper.

By practicing the above forms and some others, many mandala patterns can be created

Now simply draw circles using rounder and divide them into lines using a protractor as shown below. img_20181007_204952

Now you can create innumerable designs and show your creativity to the world. Practice the form to master it.

  1. The post clearly showcases that learning art just needs dedicating some time to the basics and then using it for the greater good and creating a beautiful design.
    Just one thing if you could post a step by step video of making the design in near future it could maybe help a little more.
    P.S:-If I don’t have a black marker,can I use different coloured pens?

    1. Yes.. The once the basics are learnt, anything can be created.. I will surely work on a video tutorial in near future.. N yes u can use any colour pen available.. Materials don’t matter, the expression does.

  2. Art is learning basics in order to express oneself ;a very beautiful thought through this blog…! I love this blog wasn’t really much interested in drawing but this blog seems to develop my interest.. Great work…
